Support the Project Today

A collaborative initiative by Mr Ejiro Madedor, Mrs Victoria Madedor and
partners to provide food to underserved
communities affected by the COVID-19 lockdown in Lagos, Nigeria.
Why this Project?

This timely project was born to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on these households by providing basic food items to them.

About Sluminclusion?

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm, affecting global markets and testing the resilience of some of the strongest economies in the world. Africa still has a relatively low number of cases but its fragile economy puts the highest number of people at risk of poverty and starvation during the outbreak-necessitated lockdown on major cities, like Lagos, Nigeria.

Worst hit by this lockdown are families of wage earners who live below the poverty line and must work daily to feed. In a country like Nigeria, where about half of the population lives on less than $2 per day, many families would need to be supported to survive the crisis and the government’s stimuli alone simply won’t do.

This timely project was born to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on these households by providing basic food items to them. This is a report on our progress so far.

The Process

This privately-funded, capitalintensive project runs solely on the generousity of individuals and corporate bodies. We initially planned to reach 250 families but we have had to increase that target to 350 because of the overwhelming need encountered.

Homes were recommended by community leaders and members, with preference given to widows and single mothers. A package of food items was dropped at each home by swiftlogistics in collaboration with Abu’s market. Abu’s market aggregated the items while FarmFunded donated their Farmtain rice.
